TEENA CHERIAN
Teena has been in legal practice for over 30 years. She serves as the legal counsel for various governmental and non-governmental organisations, including Sakhi and Bhoomika.
She is an accredited mediator with the Mediation and Conciliation Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court of India. She is also a Notary Public.
She is frequently invited as a resource person on various areas of law, and sits on the internal complaints committees (mandated to address complaints of sexual harassment in the workplace) of several organisations.
Teena is the founder-president of Jenika Foundation, a non-profit organisation which focuses on supporting victims of domestic violence and child abuse with legal aid, financial assistance, and counselling. She is the 2023 winner of the Women's Manifesto Award for her work on women's empowerment.
